Digital Learning Day
Posted on 02/06/2013February 6, 2013, is Digital Learning Day, which means that teachers, librarians and national organizations will collectively celebrate Digital Learning Day 2013, a day to recognize educators and librarians who create inspirational learning opportunities for young people by integrating technology use and practices in and out of the classroom. The American Library Association will support Digital Learning Day 2013 as part of the continued effort to highlight the everyday work done by librarians to support digital literacy.
Digital Learning Day, sponsored by the Alliance for Excellent Education, is the culmination of year-long activities in K-12 schools, public libraries, and among educators from all walks of life.
Through our ongoing work with the American Library Association’s Office for Information Technology Policy Digital Literacy Task Force, we have learned about the critical role librarians play in developing resources for classroom teachers and in designing dynamic learning opportunities for students and the public.
